Travel Advisor - Sabre skills a plus!

We are seeking one or more Travel Advisors for a growing, upscale travel agency. We are a long-term member of Virtuoso, located in the heart of Philadelphia’s Main Line in state-of-the art office accommodations.

This position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented, travel-passionate individual with experience in selling and servicing upscale leisure travel or executive corporate travel. An established network of existing or potential clients is a very big plus and indicator of future success.

The ideal candidate for this position will be ready to "hit the ground running" and take on the planning and execution of multiple passenger files utilizing our company assets and Virtuoso amenities and resources to service their clients. Communications and sales will be done in person in a comfortable office setting or by phone and email.

The Travel Advisor position involves the following qualities, duties and responsibilities:

  • Ability to identify, solicit, engage and qualify customers
  • Ability to apply the company sales process to determine clients' needs and the objectives of each proposed trip
  • Able to make strong recommendations based on knowledge and expertise
  • Plan full day-by-day logistics for clients as well as the creation of full itineraries with descriptions of each place to be visited
  • Provide superb customer service to all clients
  • Follow-up with clients after each trip to gain customer feedback
  • Create and maintain client data and information within our CRM systems
  • Design, develop and implement marketing strategies to gain new clients while increasing existing client business

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent geography skills. The ideal candidate will be well traveled with intimate knowledge of destinations, properties and suppliers.
  • Must be a good team player and enjoy working in a team-based office environment. Our office atmosphere is casual, but serious. We support each other.
  • At times, the job requires working outside “normal” business hours to care for client emergencies.
  • Good time management skills and analytical skills are important. Candidate should be able to prioritize and manage their own projects and clients.
  • A high level of verbal and written skills is required. A solid grasp of MS Outlook, Word and Excel are necessary, as each advisor is responsible for their own correspondence and client material preparation.
  • GDS or Sabre experience is a definite plus
  • Problem-solving skills and customer service skills are paramount to a successful candidate.
  • A desire to improve their skills and continually develop in their profession.
